The leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has been arrested, and will be detained till July 26, to continue his trials. He has disclosed the reason why he escaped from the country despite the criminal charges against him, by the federal government.
He was brought in looking weighed down, he was brought to continue his trials, not too long to when he was brought in, by the security personnel came in to look for the judge so that he can address the issue and hear the side of his story.
By the permission of the Judge Nnamdi Kanu spoke in the court, that was surrounded with heavily armed security operatives, that his house was raided unlawfully, which was a threat to his life, he said.
Nnamdi said that he would have been killed, with other in the day of that raiding, if not for wisdom, he used to leave the country.
His reaction was provoked by the federal government’s information through their counsel, that Nnamdi jumped the bail granted by the court to escape the trials before him, by running away from the country. The order requested by labaran to remand Nnamdi Kanu to the DSS custody was granted. The order was granted because the lawyers to Nnamdi Kanu are not yet informed about his arrest.
Justice Binta Nyako granted the request to remand Nnamdi Kanu in their custody till the next meeting in court, July 26.
The continuation of the suspended trial was originally scheduled for October 20, 2021, and later brought downward to July 26, 2021, for Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer to appear before the court.
He was taken away with handcuffs, and the medias couldn’t take pictures of him because he was taken away already.
