The Terrorist sect in Nigeria widely known as Boko Haram has acknowledge the death of its former commander, Abubakar Shekau.
This acknowledgement came in through a video announcement sent to the media by the choosen new leader of the terrorist group, who is by name called Bakura Modu, also known as Sahaba.
The former Boko Haram Leader Abubakar Shekau was killed during an infighting with the rival Islamic State for West African Province (ISWAP) in May 2021.
The death was acclaimed by the ISWAP commander, Abu Musab Al-Barnawi, he said Shekau committed suicide in an attempt to escape from the group fighters.
The new Boko Haram leader Bakura Modu, also known as Sahaba urges Boko Haram commanders to reject Barnawi.
Bakura Modu’s faction is one of the Boko Haram elements terrorising the Lake Chad area where they have access to various borders with Chad and Niger.
As a matter of fact Islamic State for West African Province (ISWAP)
fighters has laid a siege on Shekau’s stronghold in the Sambisa forest in their quest.
