Adeboye, Kumuyi And Others Can Be Prosecuted For Violating Twitter Ban In Nigeria – Lai Muhammad

If we can recall the ban of the use of Twitter in Nigeria happened after Twitter deleted the tweet made by the President which Nigerians called “Threat” Tweet, and now we have people who have been violating the ban.

Both the Redeemed Christian Church of God and the Deeper Life Bible Church have been seen violating the Twitter Ban in Nigeria, both ministeries headed by Pastor Adeboye and Pastor Kumuyi respectively still tweeted on Twitter recently.

Minister of Information, Lai Muhammad, has said that the attorney general of the federation is licenced to prosecute whoever violates the instructions not to use the Twitter platform, in which Adeboye and Kumuyi are found violating the rule.

When he was asked in an interview about those violating the ban from the federal government, he said that ” The attorney general has spoken, that if anyone is found violating the instruction on the use of Twitter, he can decide who he wants to Prosecute, he went further and said that the Federal Government, gave the decree to ban Twitter because of its continuous use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.

The federal has also told the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) that they should immediately start the process of licencing all social media operations in the country. Report has it that the Minister of Justice, had already given the order that anyone who is found violating the use of Twitter should be arrested.

Pastor Adeboye Tweeted and I quote “The Redeemed Christian Church of God is domicile in more than 170 Nations, and Territories. The tweets here are in accordance to Article 19 of the UN universal declaration of Human Rights”

Pastor Kumuyi tweeted and I quote “In view of the Twitter Ban in Nigeria, please note that the content shared on this handle is targeted at a global audience in more than 5 continents and over 100 nations, and we share the content from any of these locations”

A lot of Nigerians has said they should prosecute the men of God, and see wrath, report has it that Nasir El-Rufai still uses Twitter.
